Getting Started With Rendaivu

I don't own or belong to an organization. Can I still use Rendaivu?
Yes! You are not required to own or belong to an organization to use Rendaivu. Register and start keeping track of your horse records, sell some stuff, or advertise your business. There's so much you can do without being affiliated with an organization.
Does it cost money to use Rendaivu?
No, Rendaivu is completely free. There's no catch or limitations, so have fun!
How is Rendaivu free?
We are an advertising-supported site, just like millions of other websites out there. When you visit Rendaivu, you generate page views and clicks, and this provides us with a means to financially support Rendaivu. There is no cost to you.
There are features that I would like Rendaivu to have. Do you take suggestions?
Absolutely! We are happy to receive any suggestions or criticisms about Rendaivu. Our goal is to make Rendaivu as user-friendly and usable as possible. Please send an email to contact@rendaivu.com with your comments.
Am I able to backup records to my own computer?
Yes you can. All your records (personal, horses, etc.) can be backed up and downloaded into an XML file, which is an open file format. This is a good option if you like to keep downloaded copies of your records on your computer for offline access. Organization owners can also backup all their records, too.

What Are Organizations, and What Can I Do With Them?

What is an Organization?
An organization in Rendaivu can be a Stable, Association, Team or Club. We use the term to refer to any of these types of groups.
What's the difference between different types of organizations?
Each organization type works the same way, but they each have access to different functionality. For example, a Stable has a Feed Schedule, while an Association, Club or Team does not.
I own a stable, team, or association. How do I create an organization?
You need to be a member of Rendaivu first. Once you've registered, click My Organizations in your My Account menu, and you will see a link to create your own organization. You can also create an organization from the directory listing. Follow the steps and within minutes your organization will be ready.
I belong to an organization, but they aren't registed in Rendaivu. What can I do?
The best way to get the organization you belong to join Rendaivu is to send a "Tell a Friend!" invitation. This person will receive an email containing instructions on how to get into Rendaivu.
How do I join an organization?
Click Directories at the top, and then choose Stables & Organizations. Then search for your organization(s) to join. When you find them, you can click Request To Join and the organization owner will be notified that you wish to join. The organization owner then has to approve you. Once that is done, you will be a member of that organization.
Can I belong to more than one organization?
Yes, you can belong to as many organizations as you decide. There are no limitations.
Now that I belong to an organization, how to I register my horse with that organization?
Simply choose the horse, and in their profile is a section where you can request that your horse join an organization.
Can a horse belong to more than one organization?
Yes, a horse can belong to as many organizations as you do.
Another organization has the same name as mine. What can I do?
Unfortunately, many organizations share the same name and it would be unfair to allow only one organization to use that name in Rendaivu. We recommend uploading your logo or a picture of your organization to differentiate from other organizations in the listings that share a close proximity to your organization.
Is my personal information shared with the organization?
When you join an organization, your personal information is shared with other members of the organization. All the horses you own that are members of that organization are also shown. Your horse records, contacts, and directory listings, however, are kept private and cannot be seen by anyone else in Rendaivu. For more on what personal information is shared and with whom, please click here.
What does "Switching" mean?
Since you can belong to many different organizations, you can "Switch" between organizations. This changes which organization you are viewing and interacting with. You can easily flip between organizations, much like you would flip pages in a book.
How do I leave an organization?
To leave an organization, click My Organizations in the My Account menu. Click Leave Organization beside the organization you wish to leave.
How do I delete my organization?
To delete your organization, click My Organizations in the My Account menu. Click the Delete This Organization icon next to the organization you wish to remove. Please note that all members, records, schedules, communications and listings owned by the organization will be permanetely deleted.

Organization Schedules

I don't see any of the schedules. Why is this?
Schedules may be empty if the organization owner has not created them yet. You can send the owner a message asking them to create them. You can also create your own Dentistry, Farrier or Veterinarian appointments, too.
Why can't I change my horse's feed?
The organization owner has the ability to make feed schedules locked or unlocked. When a feed schedule is locked, you cannot edit the feed quanities. If you would like to make a change, you should contact the owner directly.
If a feed schedule is locked can I still add supplements or separate feed that I purchased?
Yes. Even when a schedule is locked, you can edit the Additional field.
I am having a dentist, farrier, or veterinarian out soon. Can I post up the event so others can use them?
The Dentistry, Farrier and Veterinarian schedules are designed so that anyone can add appointments to the schedule. If you have an upcoming appointment, you can add it to the schedule so that other members can sign up for the event. However, please be sure to ask the person your having out how many horses they can service so that they cannot be overbooked.
How many people should I say my vet or farrier can service?
Be sure to ask them. If you are unsure, choose 1 (just for you) and update the listing when you have more information.
Why can't I cancel a lesson?
If you are unable to leave a lesson time it is because you have not given sufficient notice to the organization that you wish to leave the lesson. The organization can put a minimum cancellation time on all lessons. It is advised that you contact the owner directly in this case.
If I request an open lesson time and date do I automatically get that lesson slot?
No. The administrator decides whether they will add the lesson time to the schedule, and they may choose to not meet your request.
Can I change my horse's turn out schedule?
You cannot change your horse's turnout schedule. However, you can contact the administrator and request that the times and/or paddocks be changed.
As the administrator, I cannot find the place to add meeting minutes. Why is this?
If you cannot add meeting minutes, it is likely because no scheduled meetings have already occured. In other words, you cannot add minutes to a meeting that has not yet taken place. For meetings that have already passed but are not in the schedule, you must add them first. You will then be able to add minutes to it.

Communicating Within Organizations

Can a regular user add news to the news section?
No, only the administrators can add news.
Who can see a private message?
Only the recipient. Administators do not have the ability to read private messages made between members of their organization.
I want to send a medical alert, but what does it do?
Sending a medical alert is similiar to a private message except that the message gets visual priority over other messages. When the recepient receives the alert, it appears in red to differentiate from regular messages.
Who can view messages posted in the forum?
Only members of that organization can see the messages. If you would like to post a message to the general public, click the Forum link in the top menu.
Why can I not add contacts to the contacts section under Organization?

Administering Your Organization

What types of members are there?
