Horses

Horses are an integral part of Rendaivu, although you are not required to own/lease a horse to use Rendaivu. To add your horse(s), click My Horses, and finally, Add a Horse. Fill in and submit the horse's information. Once finished, you will be directed to your horse's profile.

Your horse does not belong to any organization yet -- this is fine. What is important is that if you click the View button, you will be brought to a new screen that gives you access to begin adding and managing records. You can add training, showing, racing, and health records. If your horse is a mare or a stallion you can also enter reproduction records. Simply click on the tabs to move through the different areas.

My Contacts
This is your personal address book. It is a great tool to keep all of your horses contacts. You can store emails, phone numbers, etc., for friends, trainers, farriers, veterinarians, and more.
My Photos
Upload, store, and share your favourite pictures in different photo albums. There are no limits to the amount of photos you can upload to Rendaivu. Uploading photos automatically shares them with your friends. You can also link directly to the photo from another website. To get started, you must first create a photo album and then upload photos to it.

Photos cannot be larger than 150kb and 640x480 in size (width x height), so you may be required to resize them prior to upload. Click on the Upload Photos To This Album and then browse your personal computer to find the photos you want to upload. You can upload up to 5 photos at the same time. Once uploaded, clicking on the image enlarges the photo and gives you three linking options. These can be copied and pasted in message forums or emails allowing external people to come in and view your photo.

My Friends
My friends is an interactive social networking feature that enables you to connect with your friends and share information, photos and interests.

Finding friends is easy. Searching by name and location is the most popular. You can also search by discipline to find people around you that share similar equine interests. Once you have found friends and added them, you must wait for them to approve that they know you. Likewise, if someone adds you as a friend, you must approve them too. Once you have friends, you can then view your friends photo albums, interest, organizations they belong to as well as who their friends are. Remember, all your photos are automatically shared with your friends.

Organizations

What Are They?
Organizations in Rendaivu can take the form of stables, associations, or club / teams. You can create your own organizations in Rendaivu, or you can join ones. There is no limit to how many organizations you can belong to.
Creating Your Own
Go to your account panel, choose My Organizations, and then click Create My Own Organization. Once completed, you will be directed to your organization's main page where you will see a variety of options.
Joining An Existing Organization
The easiest way to join an organization is to find one in the directory. Click Directories, then Stables & Organizations, and search for an organization.
Horses and Organizations
Horses can also join organizations that you belong to or that you own. To add your horse to an organization, you must first be a member or owner of the organization. Once you have become a member you can request that your horse join the organization by clicking the "my horses" tab, and selecting "join organization" link. As with a user joining an organization, the horse must also be accepted into the organization by an administrator.

Organization Features

The Main Page
The main page contains the organizations news on the left, a menu bar on the top containing links to all the aspects of that organization, and an events section on the right. The events section is liked to all of your personal activities with this association. It shows your latest events, scheduled items as well as your messages mail box. This is a great tool as it will remind you of upcoming events.
Contacts
An organization contact list can be very beneficial to all organization members. An administrator for your organization can enter in contacts including email and phone numbers that they think may be helpful to organization members. A regular organization member cannot add their own contacts to the organization -- this can be done in your My Account panel.
Documents
Organizations use documents for all sort of different things, such as liability waivers. You can access and download documents from this area.
Horse List
The horse list is a list of horses that belong to your organization. In this section you can find information on the horse and its owner.
Member List
The member list shows all members that belong to the organization. You can view their profile, email, the horses they own. You can also send each member a private message from here.
Price List
The price list contains all prices associated with the organization, so all members have an area to keep updated with price changes.
Dentistry, Farrier, and Veterinarian Scheduling
Veterinary, farrier and dentistry schedules can be created by both organization members and administrators. This allows for users to share associated travel fees or just to make a trip more worthwhile by the professional coming to the organization. The administrator is able to add or delete any listing that is created by another user. Members can sign up for appointments that have available space, or insert their own appointment. It is important to talk to your professional when booking a slot that can service more than one person.
Feed Schedule
The feed schedule is an important tool for horse owners. When a feed schedule is Unlocked, a regular member can edit their horse's feed information for any particular time. When the feed schedule is Locked, members can only edit the Supplemental feeding information.

Organizations using an unlocked feed schedule do not need to worry about members exceeding the maximum ration for any feed option. All available amounts are limited according to what the administrators specify is a maximum ration.

Lesson Schedule
Lesson schedules are easily organized with Rendaivu. Regular members cannot add lessons into the schedule, but they can request to join an upcoming lesson. Administrators create lesson times and add members into them. Lessons can be one-time-only or repeatable for any length of time. If a member wishes to join an existing lesson, they can request to join and the administrator can put them in. Members without horses also have the option to use a specified school horse during their lesson.
Meeting Schedule
Meetings can be a great way to stay updated. Meetings and meeting minutes from previous meetings can be viewed in the schedule tab.
Turnout Schedule
Turnout schedules are especially important when stables have limited pasture. They can also be helpful to plan your ride around your horse's turnout time which is important if turnout time is limited. Your horse will be turned out into a particular paddock at a particular time. You can also see what other horses go out with yours.
Message Forum
Each organization has a private message forum only accessible by its members. This is a great way to connect with other organization members, setup riding times together, and it beats using a chalk board.
Private Messaging
Private messaging is a great tool to contact other members of your organization. There are two types of messages: normal and medical alerts. Medical alerts show up in bold red. This is useful in the event that something happens to someone else's horse and you need to notify the owner or an administrator. Normal messages are as you would expect them to be.
Send Invitation
If you want to invite friends or other organization members to join Rendaivu, you can send an invitation. All you have to do is enter in their email address. You can send multiple address the alert by separating them with a comma. We appreciate you trying to help get others in the horse community to use Rendaivu.
Invoices
Invoicing is a feature that any organization will need to use. When a member receives an invoice, they will see the due date and associated charges. Administrators can record that payments were received, which is shown on the invoice.
General Tasks and To-Do List's
If you are a staff member of an organization, or if you are a council member of an organization, as defined by an administrator you will have a couple of additional features. The administrator can set a general tasks list that is shared by all staff. The administrator can also delegate tasks to individual staff.

If you are an organization owner or administrator, keep reading to learn how you can maximize your use of Rendaivu.

Organization Administration

User Join Requests
When a user requests to join your organization, you will be notified in the main page and menu. If they are accepted, they will become regular members.
Horse Join Requests
Only horses that belong to a member of the organization can be added to the organization. They must be approved in the same ways users must be approved to join.
Creating Staff and Administrators
This option is only available to owners of an organization. To make an existing user either a Staff or Administrator member, visit the Member List page and make the appropriate changes. The affected members will now have access to additional privileges.
General Tasks and To-Do List's
General Tasks and To-Do list's are only available to be viewed by Staff members within the organization. The General Tasks list is shared by all staff. To-Do list's are individual list's for specific Staff members.
Documents
Administrators can upload a variety of documents that can be downloaded by all members of the organization. Document types are limited to .doc, .txt, and .pdf. The maximum upload size per document is 2mb.
Feed Times, Options, and the Feed Schedule
Before you can create your organization's feed schedule, three things must be in place: at least one horse must belong to the organization, at least one feed option must be entered, and at least one feed time must be entered.

  • To create a feed option, visit Organization > Feed Options > Add Feed Option. All feed options have a maximum serving that must be specified (this is to prevent members from serving their horse's too much of a feed type).
  • To create a feed time, visit Organization > Settings. Under the Feeding section, you can select the feed times when the horses are fed.
When all three things are ready, the feeding schedule can be created. Select each time, horse, and the quantity of feed to be given to that horse and click Save.
Locked and Unlocked Feeding Schedule
A locked feeding schedule is for those organizations who do not wish to give their members the flexibility of editing their own horse's feeding schedule. When a schedule is Locked, only the Supplementary Feeding option can be edited. When a schedule is Unlocked, a member can edit all feed quantities and supplementary feeding option for their horse. Administrators are always notified by private message that a change to the feeding schedule has been made.
Sending Invoices and the Audit Trail
All invoices sent to members are private. There are two types of invoice items that can be added to an invoice, Charge and Credit. A credit will discount the invoice total by the amount specified. This is a good option for issuing a discount, or to show that something is being worked off. The Charge value issues a positive value to the invoice. Members will be notified when they have invoices coming due.

In addition to sending invoices, you can also record payments received to create a financial trail. Under the Manage Invoices section, choose Mark Payment and enter the details. The payment amount will be subtracted from the total amount owing on the invoice creating a new balance, and history of the payments will be seen at the bottom of the invoice.

Lesson Coaches, School Horses, and the Lesson Schedule
Before you can create your organization's lesson schedule, you must have at least one lesson coach entered that can teach the lesson. School horses can also be set to give riding options to members without their own horse.
  • To create a lesson coach, visit Organization -> Lesson Coaches -> Add Lesson Coach
  • To set a school horse, visit the Horse List page. You will see a column indicating if a horse is a school horse, and a Change link to switch its status.
The next step is to create a lesson. A lesson can be a one-time event, or it can repeat daily, weekly, or bi-weekly (twice a month) for any length of time. Lessons that do not have a set schedule should be set as non-repeating. They will only appear once on the date and time selected. Any changes made to a repeating lesson will affect all the lessons within that repeating group. When a lesson is created, you can choose to leave the lesson time open so that riders can see that spots are available, or you can add riders to it. When choosing riders for the lesson, you first chose the rider. The page will refresh and the horses to select from in the drop down menu will include the horses owned by the user as well as all the school horses. Select the horse/rider combinations and click save.

If you wish to add more riders into a lesson (after receiving a lesson join request by private message), or make changes to an existing one, click the Edit Riders button on the Manage Lesson Schedule page.

News
News is the first thing that members see when they login to an organization. It is therefore a great way to announce new things that are happening at your organization.
Paddocks and the Turnout Schedule
Before you can create your organization's turnout schedule, you must have at least one paddock created.
  • To create a paddock, visit Organization -> Paddocks -> Add Paddock
The next step is to create the schedule. You must choose the horse, paddock, and turnout and turnin time. Duplicate entries (same horse and time) will not be allowed.
